The Composition
Choosing a fragrance from a screen is a little like choosing a coat from a photograph. The Discovery Set is our answer: all six eaux de parfum in two-millilitre glass atomisers, presented in a green cloth-bound box with a card describing each composition.
Wear one each day for a week. Inside the box you will find a card with a code that credits the full cost of the set against your first full bottle, or The Pair.
Wearing it
Wear one fragrance a day, on skin rather than on paper: a single spray at the inside of the wrist. Give each the whole day, since the character is in the drydown. When one stays with you, the card in the box credits the cost of the set against your first bottle.
Delivery & Returns
Nothing is dispatched yet, because we are not taking orders yet; when pre-orders open, we will give you the dispatch date before you pay. Delivery is by tracked courier, complimentary within the United Kingdom on orders from £95 and on every order that includes the Discovery Set; otherwise £4.95.
Unopened bottles may be returned within thirty days for a full refund.

About the Discovery Set
The Discovery Set, a perfume discovery set of all six HERITAGE eaux de parfum in 2 ml glass atomisers, is how the House would rather you chose. Choosing a fragrance from a screen is a little like choosing a coat from a photograph: you can see the cut, but not how it will sit on you. A week of wearing each one tells you more than any description.
The six arrive in a green cloth-bound box, with a card describing each composition. Inside is a second card, with a code that credits the full £38 against your first full bottle or The Pair, so what you spend on the set goes towards the bottle you choose. It is delivered free within the UK.
The six are composed around six English memories, and each belongs to a different family:
- Racing Green, a green chypre of galbanum, vetiver, saddle leather and oakmoss: the paddock at first light.
- The Library, a woody amber of tobacco leaf, papyrus and orris: the library after dinner.
- Henley, an aromatic fresh of fig leaf, mint and clean linen: the river in the first week of July.
- Saddle Room, a soft leather of hay, suede and birch smoke: the tack room before the meet.
- The Orangery, a citrus floral of neroli, Seville orange and orris: the orangery in midwinter.
- Highland, an aromatic smoky of juniper, heather and peat smoke: the lodge late in the season.
Between them they cover most of what people mean when they ask for something green, something warm, something fresh, a leather, a citrus or something smoky. That is the point of the set: by the end of the week, the right one is often the one you keep reaching for, not the one you expected to like.
How to use it
Wear one fragrance a day, on skin rather than on paper: a single spray at the inside of the wrist, in the morning. Give each the whole day, since the character of a fragrance is in how it settles, not in the first minute.
There is no wrong order, but a week of weather helps. Henley and The Orangery are kind on a mild day; Racing Green on a cool morning; Saddle Room, The Library and Highland on a cold one, or in the evening.
Keep the box and the cards together. When one stays with you, the code on the card goes towards your first bottle.

Is delivery free?
Yes. The Discovery Set is always delivered free within the UK, and so is any order that includes it. We deliver within the United Kingdom only for now.
How should I test the samples?
One a day, on skin: a single spray at the inside of the wrist, and then leave it alone for the day. Paper strips tell you about the opening; skin tells you about the rest.

We make three fragrances first, in time for Christmas, guided by which ones people ask for, and the other three in the new year.
